According to Chinese Curriculum Standards(2011 Version),the requirement for picture writing of students at the first stage of primary education is “to let students be interested in writing,pay attention to the surroundings,and write down what they want to say and matters in their imagination;to help students be happy to apply the words and phrases they've learnt in reading and life and to learn how to use comma,question mark and exclamation point based on the demand of expression”.Picture writing,as the initial stage for students to learn how to write,is the most effective and direct way of writing for students of primary grades,playing an important role in cultivating students' capability of expression and listening,speaking,reading and writing.This paper selects students at the first stage of primary education as the research subject to study the current teaching status of narrative picture writing of students of primary grades via literature review,observation and case study,based on the teaching objective of picture writing and the training objective of narrative picture writing.The study has discovered some problems including teachers' teaching activities for narrative picture writing,students' low interest and incompetence in picture writing,insufficient accumulation of narration materials and irrational imagination.In front of the problems existing in the teaching of narrative picture writing at present,this paper integrates practical cases to propose teaching strategies of three aspects: teachers shall enhance students' interests in picture writing through enriching the teaching tools,integrating painting into teaching,and strengthen students' writing skill by telling stories of the pictures first;strengthen students' picture reading capability by guiding them to orderly observe and deliberate the relationship between figures and imagine the plots;and strengthen students' writing capability by getting inspirations from extracurricular activities,accumulating materials from extracurricular reading and mobilizing students' imagination from teaching situation.This research can provide rules and methods as the reference for the public Chinese teachers in picture writing teaching for students at the first stage of primary education,so as to improve the current status of picture writing teaching and strengthen students' picture writing capability.
