National education is an important part of the national education in our country, which is also an important part of the work of the party and the nation. The population of national minority in Inner Mongo lia is very large, so it bears a significant responsibility for the development of national education. The teaching materials are the key to the courses and the direct ways to take on the courses. Chinese textbook selection system is the core part of the Chinese teaching materialsSince the new period, the Chinese textbooks in the national high schools in Inner Mongolia are among the continuous changes. The selection system is the main point of every revis ion in the textbooks. There have been five sets of typical Chinese textbooks in the national high schools in Inner Mongo lia since the new period. We can see the advantages and disadvantages of the selection system on the basis of the comparison analysis which are helpful to the reference suggestions for composing the new vers ion of high school Chinese textbooks in Inner Mongo lia.The arrangements of high school Chinese textbooks in Inner Mongolia(from1979 to 2008) came down in one continuous line, furthermore, they had the distinct characteristics of the times. The number of the selected materials in the text books has changed significantly. The numbers of the intensive reading lessons and the self-read ing lessons have changed several times as well. The contents of the theme units and the classical style of writing passages are growing colourful and rich gradually.The selection for the Chinese textbooks in the national high schools in Inner Mongo lia should be according to the historical development of te aching materials, and it should reflect the national education policy. We should also pay attention to the teaching patterns of the second language and reflect the adaptability of selected materials. What’s more, we should learn about the relevant theory actively and look out for the scientificalness of the selected materials. Try to be close to the real life, and stress the temporal spirit of the selected materials; Cultivate the Chinese thinking comprehensively, and promote the cultural trait; try to reta in those classic passages and reinforce the inheritance of the selected materials. Make full considerations of the differences between areas and reflect the openness of the selected materials...
