Along with the advancement of new curriculum reform in the hulunbuir city, teachers and students have a preliminary understanding and experience towards compulsory modules. However, the understanding of elective module is relatively late for both teachers and students. How to treat elective module has not yet been determined, therefore it is very necessary to carry out the investigation and analysis of the elective module. The Basis of Organic Chemistry and The Material Structure and Properties are two elective modules in high school chemistry, and they have become a good choice for those schools in hulunbuir city. Whether the two elective modules can embody the concept of new curriculum reform well in the specific implementation process, and how do teachers and students choose? What the choice is based on? What kinds of problems and puzzles do the students have in the process of learning?The paper starts from an investigation of the representative teachers of senior three, who come from Yakeshilinye First Senior High School, Hai Second Senior High School, Yakeshi First Senior High School and Arongqi First Senior High School in hulunbuir city. Through careful interviews and analysis, we want to know how teachers and students choose between the two elective modules which are from The Basis of Organic Chemistry and The Material Structure and Properties. In addition, we also want to understand the teaching methods, teaching pressure, learning methods, learning strategies, as well as the difficulties and confusion in examination performance.After analyzing all aspects of the teachers, we need to combine with the actual situation in hulunbuir city. Under the premise of observing the new outline of college entrance examination, we should comply with the following suggestions about the elective modules in the process of implementation of the high school chemistry curriculum. The first scheme is to open two modules in senior high school. In ordinary schools we had better choose The Basis of Organic Chemistry. Due to the shortage of students source, we should choose The Material Structure and Properties from the perspective of the university entrance exam. The second scheme is to reform in teaching form and develop optional class system. Although the risk is much higher, it can greatly improve the learning interest. This method takes the student as the main body, and leads students to choose learning modules on their own initiative. At the same time, through the investigation and study, the paper also provides teaching suggestions and learning method from the perspective of teachers and students for different elective modules.
