| With the expansion of higher education in China, the national ordinary university graduates have reached 7.27 million people in 2014. The national ordinary university graduates increase of 280000 than last year. With the number of college graduates increasing year by year, college graduates needs of the labor market did not increase in the same pace. The initial employment rates of undergraduate students are 67% and 67.4% in year 2012 and 2013. About 30% college graduates can’t find a job. College graduate starting salary is 3278 yuan/month by employment blue book data, but different job site. work properties and different industries affect college graduate starting salary. Different job area leads to different starting salary. In the east and west part of China, college graduates starting salary is 3148 and 3167 yuan per month. College graduates employed by the central region have the least salary 2882 yuan per month. In the difficult employment also exists gender discrimination, household register discrimination etc. College graduates employment situation more and more serious. Knowledge and ability and work experience of college students, cannot meet the needs of the job-market. This bridging fault between employment market demand and higher education development. This cohesion fault caused the job vacancies and unemployment phenomenon at the same time. This is called college students structural unemployment. College students structural unemployment is a negative result. This negative result harm to individuals, families and the whole society. Under this serious situation, the government should play a role control the situation to prevent deterioration.The logical starting point of this paper is college students structural unemployment. By searching the national bureau of statistics database and MyCOS Institute Chinese University Students ’Employment Report, combined with the present situation of our university students’ employment in recent years. We can summarizes the four characteristics of college students’structural unemployment:region characteristics, urban-rural characteristics, enterprise characteristics and professional characteristics. The author thinks that, our government have three missing in the management of college students structural unemployment:Labor market segmentation caused by college students structural unemployment; College education system reform lags behind the reform of employment system; the government lacks the corresponding framework of college students’employment ability. The government should strengthen macro-control implement supporting policies. The government should also guide students to form a correct concept of employment. |
