Research On Structural Unemployment Of Chinese College Students At Present

With the development of the popularization of High Education, more and morecollege students are facing employment problems, and employment situation isincreasingly serious. Coexisting with the phenomenon that the supply of labor hasgreatly exceeded that of jobs, structural unemployment has become the main form ofcollege students’ unemployment. Because of China’s economic system reform andregional economic structure, working experience and more market demand factors arechanging, these changes do not match college students’ knowledge structure,professional quality, working experience, employment idea, etc. So vacant positionsand unemployment coexisting. College students’ structural unemployment is thenegative result of the development of market economy, and it has a negative impacton whether college students themselves as well as their families or economic andsocial development. And now it has aroused wide concern of the whole society.The dissertation discusses the college students’ structural unemployment on thebasis of reviewing the large amount of related literatures, specific data as well asobjective facts. The paper’s research idea is to find problems, analyze problems, andsolve problems. It tries to make an objective analysis about some of the problems ofcollege students’ structural unemployment, find out the deep reason about it andprovide reference either for solving unemployment problems and alleviating theunemployment pressure of college students.The dissertation is divided into four major parts in addition to the introduction:Firstly, there is a scientific definition about the concept of college students’structural unemployment, that is, with the economic system reformation and industrialstructural adjustment, college students’ knowledge, working skills, workingexperience, employment idea, and employment area can’t adapt to the requirementsby the job market and position. So there is dislocation between talent supply structure and market demand structure, leading to vacant positions and unemployment coexists.The definition lays a solid foundation for deeply analysis about college students’unemployment performance, reasons and countermeasures.Secondly，it objectively analyses the performance of college students’ structuralunemployment at this stage, and proves a fact that structural unemployment has beenthe main form of college students’ unemployment by analyzing statistics. It alsosummarizes four types about college students’ structural unemployment: knowledgetype of structural unemployment; concept type of structural unemployment; regionaland discipline difference type of structural unemployment.Again, it makes a conclusion that the imbalance between labor supply and demandis the material cause about college students’ structural unemployment, then it has ascientific and dialectical analysis about the specific reasons for unemployment fromthe perspective of supply and demand, in order to find solutions for college students’structural unemployment.Lastly, according to the deeply analysis about the reasons of structuralunemployment, the article offers a series of countermeasures and proposals about howto solve the problems of college students’ structural unemployment from the subjectsthat are governments, colleges and students themselves, to provide basis for solvingthe unemployment problems.The structural unemployment of college students is an inevitable outcome ofmarket economy, and it will persist in the process of the future economic and socialdevelopment. The solution of the unemployment problem requires joint efforts fromgovernments, colleges and students themselves. And there is no doubt that the collegestudents’ structure unemployment needs common concern of various circles of societyin the future.
