The ordinary history course of senior high school is of great significance to students. It can not only enrich the students’ knowledge of history, but also cultivate and improve the students’ awareness of the history, culture quality and humanities quality through learning the history. And it seems very important in the current background which puts forward quality-oriented education.In history teaching, every teacher hopes that they could create the necessary premise for the students’ autonomous learning through the use of various teaching methods to enhance the students’ history insight and the sense of mission, to cultivate students’ sound personality and to promote all-round development of students. In order to achieve this goal, we need to improve the quality of history teaching design continuously. Therefore, this paper selects the first lesson of senior high school history textbook of PEP edition "Establishment of a Constitutional Monarchy in Britain" to analyze the related teaching cases to discuss their advantages and disadvantages. And based on this we design a teaching case to do some beneficial attempt in improving history teaching level.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part:The analysis of "Establishment of a constitutional monarchy in Britain" teaching case. In this part, we selected three teaching cases to analyze the teaching theories, conditions of the students, key and difficult points, and teaching evaluation and reflection from many teaching objectives. In the part of teaching theory, all of three teaching designs highlighted the principle of "people-oriented, student-oriented" at the center of the students; in the part of the condition analysis, two teaching design do not contain this aspect; in the part of teaching goal, the goal of teaching design is of disorder and illogical, not conducive to the implementation of classroom teaching; in the part of teaching key and difficult points, all design are almost the same, the focus is clear conforming with the actual teaching. In the part of classroom teaching evaluation, three designs focused on the testing evaluation; in the part of teaching reflection, three teaching designs are too simple, and some reflections on the teaching are of formality in the content, not reflecting the existing problems in teaching completely.The second part:the author’s teaching design -- a case study of "Establishment of a constitutional monarchy in Britain". According to the general process of teaching design, we put forward a specific design of "Establishment of a constitutional monarchy in Britain" from perspective of the curriculum requirements, design ideas, the analysis of learning conditions, the analysis of learning content, the design of teaching goal, key and difficult points, teaching strategies and methods, the choice of teaching media, teaching arrangement, and the design of teaching process.The third part:the reflection of "Establishment of a constitutional monarchy in Britain " teaching design. The author talk about her own understanding and thoughts of the feedback from the students and the teaching goal and the advantages and disadvantages of the teaching design.
