It is very necessary to make students learn mathematics well by stimulating students’learning interest. A large number of observed facts and psychological researches have foundthat students who have strong interest in a subject, their courses of performance is better.Otherwise, students without the proper learning interest on a subject are unlikely to get bettergrades in it. New curriculum standard of Primary school mathematics points out thatmathematics teaching should stimulate students’ interest, mobilize the enthusiasm of thestudents, cause students to think. Therefore, we must pay more attention to the cultivation ofinterest in learning mathematics to fully mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of students.It is found that some students’ interest in learning mathematics is not strong through theinvestigation and the interview. Based on the current study situation, according to thecharacteristics of primary school students in learning and subject characteristics onmathematical, new curriculum standard of Primary school mathematics, Education,Educational psychology, the current domestic and foreign teaching process theory, I havecertain understanding of the students’ interest in learning mathematics by means of literatureanalysis, survey method, interview method, observation method, case analysis and otherresearch methods. And I analyzed the reasons for the lack of interest. Combined with myworking experience, with the help and experience of colleagues I worked out a set ofexcitation and effective training methods of stimulating and cultivating primary schoolstudents’ interest in mathematics after one semester of classroom practice.As teachers, we should care about students’ cultivate students’ interest in learningmathematics. Teachers should concern about the students from their life, timely understandthe conditions of the students. Teachers should help the students who have weak in learning,and don’t let them fall behind. We should often praise the students of all and help students tobuild up the confidence of learning mathematics. In the aspect of classroom teaching,according to the teaching content, teachers should create a good beginning to stimulatestudents’ interest in learning mathematics. Students like stories and games, so teachers shoulduse more stories and games and the life situation which students are familiar with to import new lessons, so as to effectively stimulate students’ interest in learning. Teachers should alsocreate a variety of situations to stimulate students’ interest in learning mathematics, especially,the stories which students love can be used to create mathematical situations. The relation ofmathematics and the life can also be used to create situation. Interesting mathematicsproblems or mathematical allusions can be used to the create problem situation. The use ofmathematical communication can also create problem situations. All of these can stimulatestudents’ interest in learning. Hands-On Activities can trig students’ interest in learningmathematics. Good use of "mathematical beauty" can cultivate the students’ learning interestin mathematics.By fully showing the formal beauty and inner beauty of mathematics tostimulate students’ interest in learning. Using multimedia teaching can cultivate students’interest in mathematics study. Paying attention to the practice in various forms to improve thestudents’ interest in learning, especially designing some exercises that have a close contact oflife to make the students feel that learning mathematics is useful, and using mathematics cansolve many problems. Therefore I will provide more hands-on opportunities for students.
