| Counselors is not only an important part of universiy teacher team but also animportant part of university management.They are backbone of students’ ideological andpolitical education.They are the organizers, perpetrators and mentors of students’ ideologicaland political education,and the mentors and friends of students as well.In this case, they playan irreplaceable role in colleges and universities. My Government has always paid specialattention on universiy counselors’ team construction and development. A series of relateddocuments had been carried out to promote their team construction since the inception ofPolitical Instructors. Now China’s college counselor specialization in construction hasaccumulated valuable experience and practice after a continuous exploration and reform.However, some problems still exist. In2006, Liang Jinxia and Xu Lili made aquestionnaire among103universities of our country, aiming at getting to know somethingabout their feelings and the existing mechanisms.The survey report shows that there are thefollowing problems among the counselor team in colleges and universities: their scope ofwork is unclear, narrow development path, social status and welfare benefits are relativelylow, the irregular access mechanism, etc.To this end, two scholars turn out some strategiesand suggestions,that is:colleges and universities should promote the mechanism〠strengthenthe training work and make clear counselor’s scope of work.On this basis, the author take the counselors team of Nanjing University of Technologyas example.After the questionnaire survey, individual interview and reading related literature, we get an insight into the situation of specialization construction of counselor teamin our country, and summary the concrete problems existing in the current contingentprofessional construction, and systematically analyses the reason for the cause.At the same time,we made a comparative study of college student affairs managementbetween China and the United States and Hong Kong,analysed their characteristics of thestudent affairs management team, and then fond the way we could learn from them,namely:the shift work idea, change the "management" as the "service"; improve the professionaldivision of labor; strengthen the construction of ideological and political education ofrecessive project.At last,there are five suggestions on how to promote the construction of professionalcounselors measures, that is: specification of counselors’ access and elimination mechanism,a sound mechanism for training counselors, counselors improve discipline, improve theexamination system for counselors, counselors perfect security system. |
