Research On The Construction Of College Counselors' Professionalization And Specialization

Ideological and political education of college students was always given great attention by our party and central government. College counselors as the backbone of college students' ideological and political education have a heavy responsibility. Counselors' quality directly affects the effect of ideological and political education. However, at present the quality of college counselors team is still not fully meet the requirements, there is an urgent need to further strengthen the construction of college counselors team. The development of domestic and international situation, popularization of higher education, the new characteristics of contemporary college students' ideological concepts and the request of improve college counselors' quality, these factors determine that we must construct a professional and specialized college counselors team. In recent years, the central and local education administrative departments have adopted a series of effective measures on the construction of college counselors' professionalization and specialization, and achieved some success, but the construction of college counselors team involves a number of factors, there are still some outstanding problems not been resolved.This paper focuses on solving practical problems. Through the surveying, reading the literature, visiting historical experience and interviewing students, college counselors and student management staffs, I in-depth study on the construction of college counselors' professionalization and specialization, obtain sufficient first-hand information, sum up the problems in the current construction of college counselors' professionalization and specialization. These problems mainly include: the structure of the team is unreasonable, the management and security system is not perfect, the lack of specialty for back-up personnel training, the lack of a scientific evaluation system for construction of the team and the lack of movement mechanism. Through analyzing, I think the reasons for these problems mainly in three aspects: First, the colleges give not enough attention on ideological and political education of college students and the construction of college counselors team; Second, there is a lack of a strong implement on the policy and spirit of the construction of college counselors team by our party and central government; Third, at present, the management system and management methods are not enough scientific. Finally, combining with the latest research results of some theories such as: talent studies, motivation theory, care-centered moral education theory and so on, I put forward some suggestions and countermeasures from three aspects: the objective and strategic planning, system construction and the evaluation.
