High school Politics teaching efficiency should be defined by combining theconnotation of the efficiency of general teaching with its own characteristics. Anefficient Politics class should be one, in which students’progress and development areits core objective. The class should be based on the real life experiences of students andtaught by using a variety of teaching resources and media. Interaction between theteacher and students, and between students and students should be the basic teachingway, following the law of teaching. An efficient Politics class enables students to masterbasic concepts and scientific methods of Marxist theory, improve students’ ability toparticipate in social life, form a correct outlook on life, and lay a solid foundation forlifelong development of students with less investment in education. High school Politicsteaching efficiency is based on Marxism with the Constructivism theory and humanisticlearning theory as ideological resources. An efficient Politics class has the followingprincipal features: correctness of the teaching objectives, teaching process anddialectical unity pre-generated, students’ learning autonomy, effective classroomorganization and teaching exchanges, and harmonious teacher-student relationship. Aquestionnaire survey shows that high school Politics teaching deficiencies exist, mainlyin the process of teaching, ineffective social practice, low efficient use of teaching toolsand other aspects. The reasons are mainly as follows, teachers’ objective and subjectivefactors, students’ individual causes and social environment. To enhance the efficiency ofhigh school Political teaching, teachers should establish a correct teaching concept, acorrect outlook on students, teachers and learning. Enhancing the efficiency of highschool Politics teaching should adhere to autonomy, diversity, inquiry and theory withpractice principles. The efficiency of high school Politics teaching should be achievedby optimizing the effectiveness of classroom teaching, enriching the content ofclassroom teaching, strengthening the guidance of study method, and throughmultivariate evaluation and encouragement.
