Studies On Career Planning For QMC Undergraduates

With the development of the society, people are paying greater attention to the choice and planning of career, which is also a heated topic in the field of human resource management. In face of the intense competition of the world shipping, seafaring labor market and employment, maritime institutions need to suit the shipping market, give prominence to the vocational features, seize the opportunity and educate the graduates who will meet the needs of the shipping industry. They also need to direct the students to achieve their self awareness and conduct scientific planning for their future career. As an accelerator to achieve their personal goal in career planning, the purpose is to assist the students to determine their vocational goal on basis of the knowledge concerning the internal and external circumstances, make their plans, avoid the aimlessness and provide an effective channel for their career success.By means of the analysis on the status quo concerning the career planning both home and abroad, this article intends to clarify the relevant concepts and makes studies into the theories of career planning. Further, on basis of the studies of the undergraduates of QMC and the analysis on the surveys, this article conducts analysis on the problems and courses and constitutes a career planning system for the maritime undergraduates in QMC.The studies on the career planning for maritime students will single out the special merits of the maritime students, demonstrate the future opportunities brought forth by the rapid development of the shipping industry and help determine the maritime career as the first choice of employment.
