The Study On The Status Quo Of The Cultivation Of Student Leaders In Beiiing Sport University And Countermeasures

In the Outline of Mid-long Term Education Reform issued by the committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on July29th2010, a working policy of giving priority to development, getting oriented at talents cultivation, reforming and innovating, promoting equality as well as improving quality. Students’self-management skills are playing an increasingly important role for them to meet the social demands for creative talents, with the advance of quality-oriented education and the reform of education system. In this case, to foster student leaders comes as a key link in developing students’self-management skills. Furthermore, the capacity and working performance of student leaders immediately influence the management of students; therefore, it is especially important to enhance the training of student leaders.With the particularity of their discipline setting, student selection modes and training methods, student leaders in those institutions have to meet different requirements from these that for regular universities, so the student leader training obviously differs from that in general colleagues accordingly. In this context, the research on the cultivating mode of student leaders’competence in sport institutes is of great significance.Beijing Sport University is a typical example of physical education institutions in China, the training mode of student leaders’ability here will be of great promotion value for other collages of the same type. This thesis is about the research on the status quo of student leader ability training work and the problems encountered as well as some innovative training mode put forward based on practical work experiences.This thesis conducts an in-depth study on the status quo of the cultivation of student leaders through surveys and interviews. The thesis analyzes the achievements and defects of the cultivation of student leaders in Beijing Sport University.In consideration of the cases of cultivating student leaders in the university both at abroad and at home, as well as the goals of the cultivation of student leaders in Beijing Sport University, the thesis gives some suggestions. With a discussion of the defects of the cultivation, the thesis offers insights about the solutions to the problems. Hopefully, the ideas of the thesis will help the cultivation of student leaders in the sport universities.
