In recent years, people have noticed mind map is an excellent mind tool in manyfields, which can combine linguistic intelligence, digital intelligence and creativeintelligence effectively. And at the same time, mind map is also a revolutionary learningaid. Combining concrete thinking and abstract thinking well and making your brainworking simultaneously is its core idea, thus your mind traces are formed into structuraldivergence via drawing lines, which improves people’s intellectual skill and intellectualdegree. However, mind map hasn’t been applied in the field of education, especially inEnglish teaching in senior middle school.This study, based on the fact that current English teaching needs to be reformedurgently and by means of modern education science and psychology, is intended toinvestigate and analyze the senior students’ learning interest, innovative capability andtheir grades. At the same time, by combining English teaching and mind map, the presentresearcher makes an exploration of the general model of mind map.First of all, the present researcher analyzes the problems existing in English teachingin senior middle school and considers it necessary to reform English teaching. Besides, thepresent researcher does research on improving students’ interest in English learning andimproving students’ grades, hoping to accumulate experience in deepening the teachingreform and carry out divergent teaching.This study shows that as a brand-new teaching tool and learning tool, mind map playsan important role in English teaching and improving the students’ learning interest. But, itis a pity that there is no evident improvement in students’ grades due to the limited time.
