Research On National Traditional Sports Major Graduation Thesis Nearly Three Years Of Northwest University For Nationalities

Chinese traditional sports are the significant component of Chinese traditional culture. In Chinese historic culture, the cultural studies on the traditional national sports have played a role of inheriting Chinese civilization, so it is of great importance to research into this subject.In1998, the National Ministry of Education renamed the major of Martial Arts as the Traditional National Sports, which became one of the newly-set undergraduate programs. The major has developed rapidly and achieved remarkably. In the Northwest University for Nationalities,29postgraduates had obtained their diplomas of the Traditional National Sports from2010to July,2012. Along with the further studies of the subject, the academic dissertations of the postgraduates have been a vital component and a crucial practical link in the cultivation of postgraduates in colleges and universities, for the topic selection of dissertation and writing quality have direct relation to the future development and research level of the subject.From the perspective of empirical analysis, the thesis systematically analyzes the recent three-year dissertations of the postgraduates majoring in the Traditional National Sports in the Northwest University for Nationalities by adopting some research methods such as document literature, classification analysis, expert interview, summary and conclusion as well as mathematical statistics. Then it sums up the overall features and proposes some existing problems in the aspects of research topic, research method and thesis structure. The main conclusions are the following.First, the research contents of the recent three-year dissertations have gradually become wider, and the studies probe fiarther into the subject. But the distribution of topic selection is imbalanced in the research orientation.Second, as for the research methods, the methods are mainly adopted like questionnaire survey, document literature and mathematical statistics, and the comprehensive research has been the primary trend.Third, some problems are detected in the abstract. For example, some abstracts are too subjective; some are either too complicate or too simple; some lack of standards in format.Forth, other problems are frequently found out in these dissertations. For instance, it is misunderstood that the more references are the better the thesis is, so some references are listed but not quoted; too many authoritative references are quoted; the writing form of references are beyond standard.In the last part of this thesis, all the conclusions are generalized; the key research results are induced; the future developmental trend of the Traditional National Sports is sorted out; moreover, some suggestions and requirements are put forward for the future graduates.
