Due to the influence of national culture, the middle school teaching level, personality and other factors, there are big gaps between the ethnic college students’ learning level. As an indispensable important part of Chinese school system, the national colleges not only bear the general teaching tasks of the ordinary universities, but also shoulder the special responsibility of national education.Through the analysis and questionnaire for2012grade students of Chemical Engineering Institute in Northwest University for Nationalities, which mainly discusses "Northwest University for Nationalities Chemical Engineering Institute of organic chemistry teaching and learning situation" because of the influence of national and major factors, there are vary differences in students employment or continuing to study and the views of organic chemistry teaching material structures and contents.Based on the analysis and comparison for the current various versions of organic chemistry textbooks, we found that the contents of each edition is too old, which need to be perfect both in structures and contents. Moreover, these textbooks are seriously lack of pertinence and flexibility and do not conform to the actual situation of teaching and learning for the national colleges.In order to meet the actual demand of national colleges and further improve the current structure and content of textbooks; in order to improve the national colleges’ practical teaching level and highlight the national characteristics, the author takes the Chemical Engineering Institute of Northwest University for Nationalities for example to carry out a development work for organic chemistry school-based curriculum.Aiming at the deficiency of the teaching material, we focus on the actual situation of organic chemistry teaching and learning in national colleges and finally established three curriculum development base of organic chemistry course, national college actual and the actual demand for national college students, which choose "target language mode" as curriculum development mode. According to the different levels of students, the author made the A and B two courses. With the guidance of the layered curriculum objectives, the author also put forward to the principle of the construction of curriculum content and provided ways of curriculum implementation and curriculum evaluation method to point out the existing problems and suggestions in the process of curriculum development.Through the exploitation of School-based curriculum of organic chemistry, we preliminary explore a suitable curriculum exploitation path for the national university institute of chemical industry and provide a reference for our future educational reform and curriculum reform.
