With the intensification of social transformation and the fluctuation of theeconomic environment, the entrepreneurship has become an important motivation topromote the economic growth and to relieve the employment pressure. How toeffectively encourage the entrepreneurship is the common topic of the practical andacademic fields. Entrepreneurial opportunity recognitions a cognitive process ofinteraction of many factors, and entrepreneurial alertness is one of the most importantfactors.For now the difficulty and great pressure of employment has become a socialconsensus college students, so as the effective way to solve the college students’employment problems and alleviate the pressure of society and family,entrepreneurship is getting more and more attention of scholars. In the process ofentrepreneurship, it is of great importance for entrepreneurial success their whetherthey can identify the entrepreneurial opportunities. Considering the circumstances thatthe research of college students’ entrepreneurial opportunity recognition is not enough.This article carries out empirical research on entrepreneurial opportunity recognitionand its influence mechanism combined with the present situation of Chinese, andattempts to answer what kind of students can identify the entrepreneurialopportunities, and explain how students can develop the ability of identifying theentrepreneurial opportunities. There are many factors that influence theentrepreneurial opportunity recognition, in which the social network andentrepreneurial alertness attract more attention due to the great explanatory power andinfluence.This article is based on the theory of social network, entrepreneurial alertness,entrepreneurial opportunity recognition and so on. The object of study is college students. This article tries to study the relationship between social network andentrepreneurial opportunity recognition, and analysis the mediating effects ofentrepreneurial alertness on the relationship between social network andentrepreneurial opportunity.This article mainly uses three research methods including literature researchmethod, questionnaire survey method and data processing method. By reading a lot ofliterature, this article sums up predecessors’ researches on the social network,entrepreneurial alertness and entrepreneurial opportunity recognition, and sorts out theresearch on the relationship between the three variables. So as to lay a theoreticalfoundation for putting forward the research model and hypothesis, and carry out theempirical study.By using the researches of external and abroad scholars for reference, the socialnetwork is divided into four dimensions, including the network size, networkcentrality, network intensity and network heterogeneity. The entrepreneurial alertnessis divided into three dimensions, including perception alertness, mental alertness andreaction alertness. The entrepreneurial opportunity identification is divided into twodimensions such as feasibility identification and profitability identification. This studyselected the social network as the independent variable, the entrepreneurialopportunity recognition as the dependent variable, the entrepreneurial alertness asintermediary variable, and explore the relationship among the three variables. So as tocomplement the related research on entrepreneurial opportunity identification.Based on the mature scale of external and abroad scholars, this study designedthe questionnaire combining the characteristics of the college students, and collectedrelevant research data by questionnaire. And analyzing the data in order to test andverify the theoretical model and research hypothesis verification of this paper bystatistical software SPSS. Data analysis results are as follows, social network has apositive effect on entrepreneurial opportunity identification, entrepreneurial alertnesshas a positive effect on entrepreneurial opportunity identification, social network hasa positive effect on entrepreneurial alertness, entrepreneurial alertness act as amediator in the relationship between social network and entrepreneurial opportunity identification.The paper enriches the theory of entrepreneurial cognition and further improvethe entrepreneurial theory, and help students who start their own business tounderstand the relationship between social network of entrepreneurial opportunityidentification, and aware of that social network and entrepreneurial alertness areimportant to entrepreneurial opportunity recognition. The result of this research is ofgreat reality importance for college students to identify, exploit and utilize theentrepreneurial opportunity, and improve the success rate of entrepreneurship.
