Research On Students’ Associations Actuality And Countermeasure In Higher Vocational Colleges

Recent years, with the fast developmen t of higher vocational education, students’association in higher vocational colleges are properous. The expansion of students’association scale, the increase of its particiations, the variety of associations and its activities.Now associations became the window of campus cultural construction, which plays importantrole in implementing students’ professional competence, improving students all aroundquality and promoting students growth. However, owing to the late development of students’association, lack of development experience, there are many problems concerning students’association, such as, underestimation, non-standard management, imperfect regulations andunbalanced development,etc. This requires us to further study on students’ association to lookfor countermeasures. Meanwhile, the post-95s students’s profit demands is on the increase,their subject consciousness is enhancing, and their value orientation is diversed. Hence,combining post-95s students thought and behavior characteristic with higher vocationalcollege students management becomes the focus of this article. The author lays emphasis onthe systematic study on students association, the perfection of its management mechanism,and tries to solve the problem during its development.In this article, the author summarizes the the construction situation of strudentsassociation by ways of literature research, on-the-spot study, and questionnaire survey, etc.This article classified the students’ association into the following five groups: theory studygroup, scientific and technology group, culture and art group, non-profit and volunteer group,sports and fitness group. After systematic analysis, the author thinks its four characteristicsare practicsl, mass participation, participants Mobility and unbalanced development.Meanwhile, the author puts forward that students’ associations play important role in thepromotion of higher vocational colleges’ cultivation goal, student’s quick orientation in theiroccupational role, the enhancement of students occupmental development potential, theexplaination of campus culture, etc.Taking the construction of students’ association in Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute as an example, thi author interviewed or conducted questionaire among the head of the YouthLeague Committee, guiadance teacher in students’ association, student leaders, and commonstudents. The author summarizes the development situation of students’ association and itsfive existing problems. They are: inadequate management, weak construction, poor supportfrom the college, unbalanced development and unatractive. After study, the author thinks thatthe situation results from the following four reasons. First, the college doesn’t attach enoughimportance to students’ association. Second, the development goal of students’ associationand its functions are not clear. Third, its activities are lack of features and connotation. Fourth,the wrong cognition about students’ association and affected by vocational colleges’ schoolsystem and its cultural atmosphere. Finally, based on the author’s thinking on student’sassociation and advanced students’ association experience at home and abroad, the author putsforward four countermeasures: first scientific orientation of students’ association, perfectconstruction mechanism, perfection of its development support and enhancement of itsconstruction.
