The students who take the class of instrumental role, mean the students take therole in completing the class work tasks. Usually, there are three different kinds ofinstrumental role in our country’s class of primary and secondary schools: the firstkind is responsible for the work of the class, We call it the class cadre; The secondkind is responsible for group work role, such as the group leader; The third one isresponsible for its own task, We call it the members of the team, or the ordinarystudents. In these three instrumental role, the former two belong to "cadre role ",and the third one belongs to the “figurant role”. General speaking, as a "cadre role"of students, not only can get more training opportunities, but also have moreopportunity to interact with teachers, they will have more experience andachievement in class life, more passion to take part in group activities, but thestudents of “figurant role” are lack of these. This means, it’s important for students’growth and development to be a "cadre role".This paper mainly explores the effects made by family background on theirplaying roles of class cadres. It takes students in grade two from three differentkinds of senior high schools in Anhui province as study targets. They areaccordingly F high school in W, S high school in X, and S high school in L. Thenthe study adopts questionnaire method to collect information about407studentsand makes analysis of it. And talking method is applied to two students, threeparents and two teachers.The study result shows that students in the following types of families are ofmore possibility to become class cadres. Firstly, parents are professionals or cadres.Secondly, family economic situation is in higher position in local place. Thirdly,the parents have gotten education in university or higher grades. At last, thefamilies are located in cities. However, parents’ politic status makes little effects onwhether their children will be class cadres or not. It is also discovered that family background always makes effects indirectly. It usually affects students’ roles ofclass cadres through influencing their academic performance, interpersonalrelationship, communicating ability, personal expertise and literacy development.For the benign development of the instrumental role, we make suggestionsfrom the teacher’s classroom management ideas, the standards and ways of classcadre selection.we want to increase the chance of weak children as a student cadreby changing the teacher’s class management idea, enriching the student cadreselection standard, adopting various forms of student cadre selection to give moreopportunities for the offspring of vulnerable groups.And we can Optimize thestructure of class organization, break the stability of a class inside, realize thebenign development of instrumental role, make education more equitable.
