Study On Migrants’ Stratification Factor And Residential Choices

The migrants are special group, and make a major contribution to the development of China’s economic and social. In recent years, more and more researchers have paid attention to the residential problems of migrants. To understand the migrants’residential choice and its influencing factors and to provide better ideas and methods for relevant departments, in this paper, we will use the2013survey data of seven urban’s migrants in our country, using the theoretical perspective of social stratification to analysis the social stratification’s impact on miagrants’residential choice.The main content of this article is using multinomial Logit regression model and multiple linear regression models, large-scale survey data is used to study the social stratification’s impact on miagrants’residential choice. Miagrants’ residential choice is operation into three dimensions:a way of living, residential location and living area. The study found that there exist differences of occupational status, education level and income level among migrants, and these differences affect a significant role in the miagrants’ residential choice. First, the migrants’ family income per head is higher or the higher level of education, ther more likely to choose a better way of living, resident location is closer to the city, is more inclined to bigger housing area. Second, the professional status of migrants is higher, the more likely to choose a better way of living, and more likely to choose a larger living space. Third, in the analysis the influence factors of the migrants’residential choice, the migrants’family income per head is the most significant impact on residential choice, namely economic factors is the most important influence facor. The first word, social stratification fators on the influenc of miagrants’residential choice is significant, the inside of migrants due to the hierarchical difference, there is the unqual distribution of housing resourses, or there is a living inequality. In addition, this paper found that the way of migrants living in a certain extant affect its location and living space to live. In addition, residential location, marrage and family annual per capita income and other factors on the impact of living space in living in private rental housin is more pronounced in the migrants,the migrants to live in enterprise dormitory is not significant, indicating that in selection of housing heterogeneity is small, the migrants’residential choice will be restricted. In a word, the research results show that the social stratification theory to explain the migrants’ residential choice has good adaptability, theis research also proves that the econormics, psychology perspective, way of life course perspective chooses to live a certain explanatory power.Live in transitional China, residential inequality is likely to cause various social contradiciongs and social problems. To reduce the number of migrants’ residential differentiation phenomenon, from the perspective of social stratification, attention to the low social staus of the migrants living problems, speed up the implementation of rental housing, dormitory and the purchase of preferential policies to reduce the threshold of the migrants’ residential choice, the realization of the maximum of the migrant live in aspects of fairness and justice, to ensure a harmonious and orderly development of the society.
