The methods of study adopted in the thesis are as follows: documentresearch, interview, observation, questionnaire and mathematical statistics etc. Thestudy starts from four respects: teachers, P.E teaching, P.E learning, facilities andmeasures of safeguard in rural junior high school in Yingshang. The investigation andthe analysis on its results will contribute to finding out the constraints of P.E teachingin rural junior high school in Yingshang and putting forward some specificcountermeasures accordingly.The results of the study show that there are still some problems in P.E teaching inrural junior high school in Yingshang. First, Traditional teaching contents and singleteaching method affect the P.E teaching. Second, the number of P.E classes isinsufficient. And even worse, they are often occupied by other subjects. Third, thepersonnel allocation and the professional title structure are unreasonable. Theirworkload is heavy while their income is low. Fourth, some school leaders neglect theimportance of P.E. Fifth, Students are enthusiastic enough to participate inextracurricular sports activities. However, the material guarantee is inadequate.Finally, the expenditure on physical education, the sports grounds and the facilitiesare in great shortage. Considering the above-mentioned results, I put forward somecountermeasures, providing a reference for the education authorities. First, reasonablyallocate the P.E teachers and provide them with more training. Second, more attentionshould be paid to P.E teaching. Third, P.E teachers should renew their teaching ideas,excavate teaching resources and implement Sports and Health Curriculum Criteria.Fourth, cultivate students’ interest in P.E and boost their enthusiasm on sportsactivities. Finally, the government should increase input into P.E teaching to better thefacilities, thus promoting the development of P.E teaching in rural junior high schoolin Yingshang and providing a reference for the education authorities.
