The Research On Child Bride Problem Of Beijing Region From 1912 To 1937

The child bride is those who haven’t reached adult,and the famliy’s elders or chiefs set engagement in advance,and bring girls to the groom’s home raised until both grow up to marry before a form of marriage.It originated in the ancient of concubin system,and formed in the Song and Yuan dynasties,flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties,and until modern times still in vogue.It is a kind of saling and buying of marriage as well as the extreme of arranged marriage of feudal.Into modern times,under the influence of Western ideas of Liberation,child brides as a cancer has attracted more and more attention and criticism.Although the government has denied the bad habit of child brides at the legislative level,but the child brides as a custom,has a continuity of its inevitably inertia and entrenched,not only has the child brides not disappeared in the period of Republic of China,but also appeared in the street of Beijing.The Beijing which is the political and cultural center in our country,and it is also a modern and traditional washed each other.Then the child brides’ appeared is closely related to the features of Beijing city,and it also has its own unique features.In the period of Republic of China,under the influence of social-economic factors such as poverty and men are superior to women,child brides still occupies a certain percentage in Chinese marriage market,but those girls who are brought up in their husband’s family when they are children,because of the father’s and the mother’s habits are difference, to the child brides’ life has a far-reach impact,and the child brides’ fate also fills with many unknowns.Namely,because of the special statues of child brides,child brides are often placed in a marginalized position at home,while in contact and exchange with surrounding people,it has inevitable connection of the society of Beijing.Under the influence of the ideological trend of Western women’s liberation,people criticized child bride itself or this bad habit of child bride,they also put forward some corresponding methods to rescue the child bride,but most of them are not feasible.The government and the social groups have made active exploration of the child brides’ liberation,and have founded some corresponding relief agencies to rescue child brides.The government agencies and social groups also had a tacit understanding cooperation,which was advantageous to liberate the child bride in a certain extent.but there were also many problems.In the period of Nanjing national government,according to the principle of freedom of marriage which has denied the bad habit of child brides,and also supplied some legal basis for child brides’ liberation.But due to the derailing of the legislative and the social,so it could not fundamentally eradicate the bad habit of child brides.In the period of Republic of China,with the fierce social change,women’s liberation problem has attracted more and more people’s attention.In the big social environment,the child brides’ liberation problem is also one of the issues which are widespread concerned.But child brides’ problem is not only women’s problem,but also a complicated social problem,It is connected with the social-economic and related with the social environment simultaneously,therefore,in the actual rescue child bride process will face many difficulties,at this point,the child brides’ liberation has a long way to go.even so,in the social transformation of modern Beijing,child brides are also fading traditional colors,and began to transit to the modern society.
