At present, the campus has a nice academic atmosphere. College students’ communities are an important carrier of ideological and political education and an important means of building style of study. In order to enrich students’ daily lives and improve their academic skills and academic literacy, academic communities are particularly important. Due to lacking momentum of development, college academic communities develop slowly, and students do not actively participate in communities. Compared with other types of communities, academic communities are less competitive. Therefore, the article is based on research Shang Zhu community’s momentum of development of China Youth University for Political Science, and to provide some reference for future college academic communities.In this study, the author uses qualitative research methods, and interviews 13 members of Shang Zhu community. This paper combines groups theory with interview to analyze college academic community’s the momentum of development. According to internal and external groups’ momentum, on the one hand, college students’ academic community development can be divided into internal momentum and communities member’s momentum. First of all, from the point of communities’ momentum, included communities the definitely goal, the democratic leadership style, diversification of internal training, teachers are responsible for directing and sense of belonging. Secondly, from the point of communities’ members momentum, included the academic level of ascension, develop various ability, expanding interpersonal, rich university life, cultivate their own interests. On the other hand, academic communities’ competition, the main external development departments, school policies to guide and support social stimulation, including faculty support is mainly divided into human, material and financial resources to support, at the same time departments’ support are college academic communities main external development momentum. The author analysis the following conclusions: the internal impetus is prerequisite for the construction of communities, external development impetus is important supplement of the construction of communities, college students’ academic communities development is a kind of participative motivation structure.The research of this article contributes to the development of college academic communities, in the later development of student communities, we should distinguish the internal motivation and external development momentum in order to solve the problem and enhance the competitiveness of the development of the academic communities.
