With the new curriculum reform and the advancement of modern technology,the multimedia applied in the primary school classroom has become an inevitable trend. The multimedia teaching method as a tool for teaching, can set text, image,sound, animation and other functions in one, has changed the traditional teaching method that only depend on blackboard, chalk as well as teachers’ teaching. Stimulate the students’ interest in learning, increase the amount of teaching information, not only inject new vitality for teaching method, but also provides a new way for students to learn. From the past simply “accepted” to now “inquiry” and “discovery ”, make the students become the main body of the class,make change from “want me to learn”to “I want to learn”, therefore, greatly improving the efficiency of teaching. The study uses investigation method, observation method and interview method, taking three primary schools in Lanzhou city for example, make a deep study on how the three school teachers to use the multimedia teaching means. The purpose of this study is:make a careful investigation on the situation of the multimedia teaching means implied in primary schools, in order to carry out a detailed analysis of the and disadvantages of multimedia teaching. Put forward the development strategy, in view of the existing problems.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:Firstly, in the primary school classroom, the teacher can reasonably and effectively use multimedia teaching means, make it play a powerful role in teaching.The greatest characteristic of multimedia teaching method is intuitive, image, can effectively break through the teaching difficult point; increase the capacity of teaching,improve teaching efficiency; can well create teaching situation, realize ingenious introduction; can arouse the students’ attention quickly, therefore, improve students’ study enthusiasm effectively; can active classroom atmosphere, stimulate students interest in learning. Use multimedia teaching methods can also revoke blackboard writing process, without writing blackboard writing, more convenient.Secondly, there are also some problems and unreasonable phenomenon of using multimedia teaching means in teaching, impeded the process of classroom teaching. It cost too much time to make courseware, multimedia courseware is too fancy todistract students’ attention, because excessive reliance on courseware, reduce the interaction between teachers and students; at the same time, a large amount of information lead students’ think time is not enough, lead to students can’t keep up with progress and is difficult to digest knowledge; Some teachers exaggerate the effect of the multimedia courseware, and ignore the traditional teaching means; only a small number of teachers make courseware by themselves, most of the teachers choose to download or modify others’ courseware, this shows that teachers’ enthusiasm of making courseware is not high. Downloaded courseware is not suitable for their own classroom, in that case, it is possible to run counter to one’s desire.Paper put forward suggestions on how to better use the multimedia teaching method. It was mainly including correct understanding of the status of multimedia in class; establish curriculum resource as soon as possible; design reasonable and effective multimedia courseware, grasp the practicability, adaptability and suitability of multimedia courseware; organize the reasonable classroom teaching, combine the multimedia teaching method with the traditional teaching method.
