With the development of economy and the progress of society, great changes have taken place within the education sector. During the process, we are more or less influenced by various theories of education and teaching, some of which involve new terms regarding education such as "small-class teaching". Small-class teaching aims at cultivating students’ interest and ability in learning, fully energizing their enthusiasm, and promoting all-rounded and personalized development of students. Therefore, small-class teaching of elementary education has become the general trend of developed education.At the same time, in the practice of elementary education worldwide, stratified teaching is very common; in the research of curriculum and teaching theories, stratified teaching is an old yet new topic. This paper is aimed at exploring the collision between new education ideas and the existing education theories, and the changes and specific practices in junior high-school teaching of Chinese in the context of this collision, which is the "implementation of stratified teaching of Chinese under small-class mode". Small-class teaching and stratified teaching all have in common in the aspect of the teaching idea and the teaching objective, teaching in small classes implement mode, is the characteristics of the organic combination of the two, small-class provides more possibility for stratified teaching operation, stratified teaching can also maximize the small-class advantage.This paper firstly illustrates the rationale of stratified teaching under small class mode; then it continues to elucidate the specific implementation method of stratifies teaching of Chinese and elaborates teaching practice experiences, including preparation stratification, instruction stratification, homework stratification, evaluation stratification, etc, summed up the results of practice. Finally, this paper sets forth the evaluation and reflection of stratifies teaching under small-class mode.
