The national principles and policies to fully implement the competenceEducation, the needs of society for talents broad and diverse development, providesufficient space for development of art high school. The characteristics of both theprofessional school senior middle school and high school fine arts. The art studentsculture course whether curriculum width or depth of curriculum setting and otherordinary high school is. And professional courses and occupy a large part of class. Soteaching the lack of time becomes a big problem in art teaching in senior high school.Because of the weak foundation of the art students learning and geography is acomprehensive logical subject, art students learning geography exist widely difficultyand low enthusiasm. It is imperative to conduct in-depth study of geography teaching,to improve the effectiveness of geography teaching, classroom teaching strategies andmethods.In this paper, applying the literature analysis, case analysis research, descriptiveanalysis and investigation method etc. The author discusses the effective teaching ofgeography teaching tactics on the basis of the teachers’ awareness of the problem athome and abroad. Considering the special characteristics of art school, based on thefull study of the art students’learning situation, summarizes the possible measures toimprove the effectiveness of teaching. In order to improve the quality of teaching ingeography and promote the comprehensive development of the art students.This paper includes six components. The first part is the introduaction.Including the background, the status quo at home and abroad, the concept of theeffective teaching of geography and discussing the method and significance of theresearch. The second part is geography teaching situation of art high school andexisting problems of the art high school including: defect of teaching methods,Insufficient understanding of the characteristics of students and the old concept ofteaching. The third part is the characteristics of psychological cognition of artstudents,this part analysises the advantages and disadvantages of the art students tostudy from two aspects of intellectual and psychological. The forth part is theeffective teaching strategies of art high school including The function, content, subjectand method etc. of the evaluation. In this part, the author focuses on the following parts: geography teaching measures of arts high school in the new curriculum reformenvironment; the implementation strategies of effective teaching in geography. Thefifth part is the evaluation strategy of effective teaching in geography. Conclusions areproposed in the last part.In this paper, combined with the actual situation of the art characteristics ofsenior high school,the author proposed the some suggestions of effective geographyteaching. Through the teaching practice and teaching experiment, To verify thepracticability, that have certain effect to improve the teaching efficiency. It canimprove the learning enthusiasm of students, play the art students expertise, Improvesstudents’ learning achievement and learning ability. At the same time teachers’teaching ability and professional quality are improved. Research on effectivegeography teaching strategies of art students of high school need long-termexploration and unremitting efforts.
