To speed up the pace of year by year in college curriculum reformtoday, colleges and universities sports curriculum also unwillings tolag behind, one after another in the curriculum construction,curriculum contents, reform of class organization form, studentsparticipate in physical exercise, improve teachers’ scientific researchlevel and improve the venues and facilities and other relatedconditions were make snap reform and achieved remarkable results,fully prepared objective to enhance the level of the student movementand physical quality and promote the college curriculum reform,improve the quality of education to do a good job.However, on thewhole, there are much room for improvement and development in thereform of colleges’ sports course. Overall shortcoming is the lack ofintact system and basic requirements which are unified in standardand demand. In nationally, there is a big gap in the sports teachingquality between different districts, different regions, and even thedifferent schools. It is unprofitable to the balanced development andcontinuous improvement of students in each region and each school.Besides, it also affect the balanced,continuous and sustainable development of colleges’ sports job, especially in the curriculumreform. But the biggest problem is not curb and reverse fundamentallythe downward trend year by year on the students’ physical and healthlevelIt should be clear, the university sports teaching work as the lastphase of campus physical education teaching, an important stage oftransition as the school sports to the social sports, has veryimportant significance and particularity. Sports teaching in Collegesand universities is very important to cultivate community needs tohave a variety of comprehensive development ability of students.Higher school sports work and in June12,2014introduced the "basicstandard"(hereinafter referred to as the "basic standard") for theabove phenomena occurred in the teaching of university sports,factors such as the quality of teaching, curriculum structure,curriculum content, in the form of organization, teachers, fundingratio etc are made of concrete and clear requirements.This study first selected eight ordinary universities in Shanxiprovince, then had an overall research on present situation of publicPE curriculum, including the methods likeinterview method,questionnaire survey, literature data method and mathematicalstatistics and so on. At last, after detailed analysis, the studysummarized some existing problems and improving approaches. Itaims to make an investigation to the implement conditions of PEcourses in colleges after publishing Basic Standard, such ascurriculum structure, content and evaluation. According to this, it iscommitted to provide some experience for the reform of publicphysical education in common colleges and universities and offer data and theoretical basis for the further development of theuniversity sports work in Shanxi Province.The findings show that the courses of public PE in commoncolleges and universities in Shanxi Province have various types withits relatively reasonable curriculum content setting and moreeffective curriculum evaluation. But it still faces some challenges, forexample: PE courses lasted not so long in some colleges; the contentof the course setting evaluation on student achievement is relativelysingle; the sports theoreticalclass accounts small proportion ingeneral courses; shortage of teachers for the proportion of youngteacher is little larger; unsound equipment facilities and so on.Suchproblems affect the normal development of PE teaching in Shanxicolleges and universities to some extent, here are severalcountermeasures proposed according to the above problems aims toordinary colleges in Shanxi Province:1, make some adjustment forthe course structure;2, adjust course content and update it;3, makeoptimization in evaluation system of PE courses;4, college leadersand administrative department should pay attention to universitiessports curriculum;5, improve teachersteaching levels;6, increasingthe investment in PE courses, making better building ofconstructionof venues and facilities.
