At today when the era is developing and the society is undergoing progress day by day, there are more opportunities for people to communicate with each other. As a modern citizen, oral communicative competence has become one of abilities that we must have, in this case, the oral communication teaching is gaining more and more people’s attention. The ministry of education of the People’s Republic of China formulated and promulgated the “Ordinary High School Chinese Course Standard(Experiment)” in 2003, in which it put forward the new concept, new requirements of the standard for the writing of the Chinese language teaching material and teaching implementation has brought many new changes. But, throughout promotion of new curriculum standard since high school Chinese oral communication teaching in recent years, the status quo is not optimistic.This paper adopts the method of combining theory and practice to do the research on the present situation and countermeasures of Chinese oral communication teaching in High School by adopting the new curriculum standard. Through sending out the questionnaire, we investigate the present situation of high school students’ oral communication ability and the teaching of oral communication and find problems and deficiencies in oral communication teaching, and put forward concrete improvement strategies and provide a reference for Chinese oral communication teaching in high school in the future.This thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly contains four parts including the research origin, research status at home and abroad, the research objectives and significance and research methods. The second chapter is the oral communication teaching of new curriculum standard, which consists of two sections. The first section is on the definitions of oral communication teaching and related concepts and discusses the concept and characteristics of oral communication, the concept and constituent elements of oral communication ability, oral communication teaching concept and the necessity of oral communication teaching. The second section is to interpret “oral communication” in the new curriculum standard;the author lists the statements of “oral communication” in the new curriculum standard and has understanding of the content of this part. The third chapter is the investigation and analysis on the present situation of oral communication teaching under the new curriculum standard in high schools and analyzes the investigated questionnaire and finds that the current problems of “the teachers don’t teach, and the speakers don’t speak” in high school oral communication teaching and the high school students oral communication ability needs to be improved. In this paper, the authors has done the analysis on the reasons why such problems happened and thinks that from the point of the social environment of oral communication, misunderstanding of oral communication for a long time and the current education system in China restrict the oral communication teaching; from the level of textbooks, the oral communication contents of teaching materials is of small capacity, lack of interactivity and guidance; from the teachers level, some teachers have misunderstandings on oral communication teaching in the aspect of ideas and practice; from the students’ level, the psychological and physiological factors for the senior high school students have formed hindrance on the smooth implementation of oral communication teaching. The fourth chapter is under the guidance of new curriculum standard, from the four aspects including the concept of teachers’ ability to be updated and improved, the improvement of teaching strategy, the complement of teaching materials and contents and the establishment of evaluation system, the author has done the researches to propose the countermeasures to improve the present situation of high school oral communication teaching, in order to promote the progress and development of students and improve the quality of high school Chinese oral communication teaching.
