The oral communication teaching of Chinese during compulsory education in high school is strengthening and deepening.This improvement can stimulate the learning and social skillls of Chinese accomplishment and other subjects in high school. But in the teaching of oral communication, there are still many problems. And this becomes more difficult in minority areas. In recent years, teachers aim at a higher goal of the oral communicative competence of students.According to the local situation, the Chinese teachers in the ethnic minority areas also try a variety of teaching methods, and strive to solve all kinds of problems appeared in the local Chinese oral communication teaching. Although remarkable achievements have been made, but there is still a lot of work to do in future.Based on the questionnaires, interviews, observations and tons of literature data we conducted in Huangcang Middle School, Longshan County, Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture which involved the performance of four hundred students of the senior and the help of twenty skilled Chinese teachers in Chinese teaching research group of this high school. Aim at finding out the current situation and its possible causes, this paper will have a say in exploring the solutions to solve the problem in accordance with reality.This study consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction, which describes the sources of the topic, purpose, research and so on. The second part expounds the requirements of Chinese oral communication teaching in high school by the analysis of the different situations on teachers, students and the evaluations under the new curriculum standard of senior high school.The third part provides strong evidences and proofs for the last two parts of this essay by the analysis on questionnaires, interviews and sitting-ins on classes. This analysis can also show a better view of the skill and the actual usage on both of the teachers and the students. It can also give us a thorough knowledge of the teaching skill and students’assessment. The fourth part is the statement of oral Chinese teaching problems and causes in high schools of Longshan County. This chapter is to undertake the third chapter survey, focus on the problems and analyze the causes.The fifth part is the countermeasures and suggestions. This is aiming at the problems in the fourth chapter and expect that these suggestions and countermeasures can provide the improvement of Chinese teaching in high school of Longshan County.Based on the investigation and research,we can see that there is still a long way to go. As for the ethnic minority areas like Longshan County, the teachers and students need to strengthen their oral communication training, and strive to improve the quality and teaching ability to change the status of the teaching of Chinese oral communication in high school. The cooperation and participation from the regional departments, schools and parents are also essential. This important and influential teaching activities will thrives and benefits the coming generations by the hard work.
