Early reading has attracted great attention in recent years, of which the parent-child reading in each family has been considered as the most efficient way. Thus the parent-child reading has been largely encouraged in the whole society. By means of infant reading accompanying by their parents, children’s interest in reading can be boosted, children’s reading capability can be improved, and what’s more, children can develop good reading habits. Besides, it also helps enhance the affection between children and parents.Doubtlessly, parent-child reading will encounter with various kinds of problems and obstacles in the process of promotion. Because of the particular natural and human environment,parent-child reading in new rural will meet more challenge.parents in new rural need more help and guidance.In this study,we take D community as example by observation and interviews to begin the action research on the guidance of parent-child reading in new rural.On the basis of theoretical analysis, the study tries to restore the real living and education environment by action research. To be specific, the research is carried out by both interview and questionnaire survey, so as to well understand the current situation and existing problems of parent-child reading in certain community. On the basis of the survey, researchers choose D community survey conducted collective parent-child reading guide. According to the feedback of parents and researcher’reflection,we select four families from the D community kindergarten to take part in the parent-child reading guidance activities.In the action research, the data of study were collected from observations,audio recordings,video recordings and interviews qualitative analysis. What the research finds in these four families mainly contain the following problems:the backward idea of parent-child reading; the lagged reading environment; the single reading mode from the parents part; four children’s lack of reading interest and the comparatively low level of reading ability. Based on the status quo and correlation analysis,the researcher prepare three cyclic action processes of the parent-child reading guidance in new rural families including developing parent-child reading guidance activities including guidance at home (carrying out activities at each family), group guidance activities, and each family’s autonomous activities.After taking part in the activities above, the changes of these families mainly embodied as follow, firstly, all the mothers hold a positive attitude towards parent-child reading; secondly, the mothers are willing to spend more time on parent-child reading; thirdly, they also pay more attention to enhance the pleasure of parent-child reading; fourthly, the activities also stimulate four mother’s awareness of self-learning; lastly, the four mothers are on their way of improving the parent educating ability.the changes of four children embodied as follow:the four children begin form good reading habits;the four children inhance their reading interest; the four children improve their reading level.Based on all the findings above, the research proposes corresponding suggestions for the kindergarten and their teachers in the D community. The author hopes these suggestions can give some insight for the future studies and researches. To sum up, the research carried out aims at promoting the parent-child reading quality in these four families and more families in the new rural.
