For a long time, our country high school geography curriculum content is rational not to serious, the content is not specific enough, knowledge value is low, the content simple, direct impact is made the high school geography teaching inefficiency in our country, the part from the settlement geography is especially outstanding, ignore the teaching of local geography and so on question is obvious.Based on effective teaching and settlement geography research status at home and abroad is analyzed, the effective teaching is applied to the high school settlement geography, the study of settlement geography effective teaching in high school. Based on the analysis of settlement geography in middle school geography curriculum summary, through questionnaire and interview survey method is the region’s high school settlement geography teaching present situation carries on the analysis, it is concluded that the existing problems, and to seek the feasible effective teaching methods.The focus of the effective teaching method is introduced in this paper, focus on what inquiry method, case analysis and cooperation based on the settlement geography are required two related content, for example, to explain analysis, detailed process description. For teachers to provide guidance in this part of the teaching process. In addition, this article also puts forward some effective teaching methods, the other to make the teachers in the teaching process should abandon the traditional teaching methods, under the requirements class curriculum concept, improve the classroom efficiency.
