New media is a relatively concept of traditional media. It’s established on the new technologies of digital information, Internet and mobile communications which is charactorized in real-time, interactive, personalized, virtualization and etc. It ’more and more in line with people’s requirements and has become an indispensable tool of modern life. Volunteers are the important human resources of social institution. It’s the key importance of social institution to reinforce the scientific and effective management of volunteers. It is a vital meaning of research that how to innovate the volunteer’s management of social institution under the modern environment of informatization and globalizationwhich following with new media. Based on the connotation and characteristics of new media, studied the volunteer management of social institution In the perspective of new media and combined with the research methods of literature and semi-structured interviews, this paper had summarized the problems of volunteer management of social institution that the recruitment and training are lack of autonomy, public propaganda is poor, specialization of volunteer management is less, volunteers mobility is relatively much, volunteer’s team is failed to form a cohension and other issues.In connection with the opportunities and challenges of social institution volunteer management which provided by the new media, combining the theories of ecological systems and motivation, this paper will propose the solutions as:" emphasis on the role of new media to expand the social influence of voluntary service, take advantage of the new media and construct the systematic training, develop the space of new media and enrich the incentive methods".
