The Study On The Management Dilemmas Of Social Work Institution In G Province

Social work has been considered as a professional job to help people and a practical tool to solve various problems of society and human beings. Now, the development of social work gets increasing attention from the government and society. Social work institutions, as a supporter/carrier for practice and theoretical research in social work area, have a great significance in promoting the development of social work. But most domestic specialized researches have been done from the perspective of social work profession skills or values, social workers, social workers and the development trend. The researches on social institutions are few. With the surge of social service organization, it is con temporarily urgent to study the management of institution.Meanwhile, during the practical operation, various problem existing in the institutions hinder the development of the institutions. Based on this, the thesis selects the management dilemma of social institution as the research theme, applies questionnaires, field observation to survey and the analytical tool-Balanced Scorecard to collect materials and makes a research on 12 social institutions in G province from four perspectives:the service, resources, internal processes and learning & growth. It aims to systematically present the management dilemma of social work institutions in G province.Through the research, the management dilemmas of social work institutions are summarized as following:firstly, there exist inconsistent demand in social service and the clients and unequal cooperation between the institutions and sponsors in the service of institutions. Secondly, in the management of resources, the institutions face the dilemma of the great difficulty in collecting exterior resources and low level openness in utilizing the resources. Thirdly, in the internal process of the institutions, there exist the problems of great difficulty in the project running and lack of supervision over the institutions Fourthly, in the study and growing up of social workers, the institutions have low training ability, pay less attention to the building of the specialized team and the frequent mobility of social worker. Taken together, from the institution, the more attention should be paid to the dilemma which is mentioned above. At the same time, the manager need to vastly overcome the shortcomings; from the government and society, more support and encouragement forces should be provided.
