A Research On Infants’ Living Habit Formation Problems, Causes And Family Education Strategies

Habit formation is critical to human’s life and infant period is crucial to living habit formation. This paper mainly adopts empirical research methods such as questionnaires, interviews and so no and investigates infants’living habit problems in daily life. Based on facts and materials, it explains some unhealthy habits that infants form in life, analyzes major problems and causes and proposes family education strategies.This research shows that:Firstly, according to statistical results, there are no significant differences as to infants living habit all-dimensional total points in the variable of gender; the only child’s living habit all-dimensional total points are higher than those of non-only child, which indicates that the unhealthy living habit of the only child is more serious than that of non-only child, especially unhealthy eating habit. There are differences in sleeping habit, dressing habit and health habit among only child and non-only child, but the differences are not significant.Secondly, there are significant differences in infants’ living habit and all dimensions in different regions. After comparison, the total score of infants’ unhealthy living habit in rural-urban continuum is higher than that in the villages, while that of infants in villages are higher than that in cities.Thirdly, infants of varying grades differ as to sleeping habit and health habit while there are no significant differences in eating habit and dressing habit.Fourthly, there are no significant differences as to the father’s educational level and the infant’s’ living habit and all dimensions, but there are significant differences as to the mother’s educational level and the infant’s’ living habit, eating habit and health habit.Fifthly, there are no significant differences as to differences of family member formation and the infant’s’ living habit and all dimensions, the infants’ unhealthy living habit score from complete families is lower than infants from incomplete families, and that of infants from nuclear families is lower than that from stem families.Sixthly, from combination questionnaire, interview and observation, we can see that major problems that infants have in living habit formation are:plain and thin parents’ concept of forming infants’ living habit, insufficient parents’ educational ability, absence of parents’ example effect, grandparents’ love which lacks sensibility, over-spoiling of the only child and so on.Seventhly, based on the problems that infants form and the cause analyses, we come to the educational strategies for infants to form healthy living habit:encouraging parents to continue studying; promoting parents’ educational ability and educating infants scientifically; parents should lead by example, teach by personal example as well as verbal instructions so as to form desirable example effect; having rigorous demands on infants, strengthening to form healthy habits repeatedly; good cooperation between parents and kindergartens so as to form education resultant force.
