The Research On Community Integration Through Social Communication Of Migrant Children In Beijing

Migrant children are not only vulnerable groups in the city, but also a kind of marginal group in the city. They get a sense of exclusion from the city, feeling on the edge life of the city, and produced obvious estrangement that make them hard to integrate into the city, especially the barrier of personal communication. Social communication is the foundation of socialization of the migrant children; the socialization process is also the process of social integration. So, social communication has a very important influence on social integration of the migrant children.This research ordered an investigation into the social communication in family, school and community life of the migrant children. Found that in the aspect of social interaction, migrant children commonly have these problems: contact apace is narrow, communication network is small, communication form is dull and the frequency is low. The mainly reason is that the lack of support from all parties in the society for the migrant children.First, the difference between urban and rural life produced space, identity and cultural barriers, which make migrant children lack of peer support. Second, family economic conditions and the limitation of education resources make migrant children lack of family support. Third, voluntary schools and self-managing schools have many weaknesses in hardware condition and teacher resource, which limit the communication of migrant children in the school. Fourth, the function of community is not perfect, which make migrant children lost the support for outside school contact. Fifth, the system of laws and regulations is not sound, which make migrant children lack of government support.The community as a link of individuals, families, schools and society, is a very important space for migrant children to communicate. As a result, community support is the important way to promote migrant children integrates into the city life through social interaction. To this end, perfect community spending system must be established, in order to help migrant children extended social network, adapt to city life and culture and realize social integration through the interaction with urban residents and children.
