Since the 21 st century, economy of countries all over the world develops constantly. As the drive of economy, education draws more and more people’s attention. High quality education has urgent need about the high quality teachers. So the teacher education is extremely important.Firstly, this paper, based on the research of comparative reference purposes,mainly use the method of literature research and comparative research to combine and analyze the main ideas of the three policies, such as Our future, our teacher, The RESPECT project, The educator preparation reform act. It analyze the background of the policy of Obama administration’s teacher education reform, from the three dimensions about international, domestic, Obama’s own reasons. This paper studies international background from the two aspects includes the setbacks of American students’ international test results, the international teacher education reform upsurge.Domestic background from the three aspects to explore: the effects of the economic crisis, the problems of teacher education and the disputes of various interest groups in Democratic Party on the topic of the teacher education reform. Obama’s own background is from Barack Obama’s personal growth experience and Mr. Obama’s personal teacher education to make preliminary discussion.Secondly, this paper generalizes and studies the content of Obama’s teacher education reform policies from the following four aspects. The goal of Obama administration’s teacher education reform, the path of the high quality teacher training, the way of assessment and certification system. From the above content,induces the six characteristics of the Obama administration’s teacher education reform policies: The flexibility of teacher education reform policy, persistent,diversity, the balance of high quality teachers’ training, the balance of races, the standardization of teachers’ professional development and institutionalization of teachers’ qualification.Thirdly, this paper analyze the Obama administration’s teacher education policy measures: the practice the teachers’ performance salary, the implementation of balanced allocation of high quality teachers, the increase of teacher training funds,adoption of comprehensive evaluation according to the results and teacher accountability. Summarize the influence of policies produce and try to predict the trend of Obama administration’s teacher education reform policy: teachers’ professional status will continue to become higher, investment of teachers education will continue to grow, the teachers’ training ways will be various, the teachers’ training of pre-service and on-the-job will be gradually integrated.Finally, adhering to the concept of “Stones form other hills may serve to polish the jade of this one”, with the understanding of present national situation, the study of Obama administration’ teacher education reform policy, this paper brings some enlightenment from the following five aspects: highlight the goal about the high quality teacher training, improve the proportion of the teacher education practice curriculum, pay attention to the multicultural teacher training and so on.
