| With the new policy of college entrance examination being issued, the status of Chinese as a subject has been suddenly elevated. With the obvious important role which writing plays in Chinese, people have started to pay unprecedented attention to writing achievements. But in the present teaching, the problem of dishonesty abounds in the compositions of junior middle school students, because the concept of exam-oriented education has been deeply rooted in people’s minds and the students are encouraged to write in order to get higher scores in Chinese. As a result, writing has become a training activity to produce formatted, stereotyped and adult-oriented compositions, which are full of false, big and empty words. Meanwhile, classroom education of writing has become a score-oriented workshop to achieve higher marks. Therefore, from the present classroom situation, we may discover that the teaching objective of writing values exam-oriented topic composition over free writing, places the teaching content of writing and polishing skills over the expression of true feelings, the teaching process of writing values monodirectional writing over building multidirectional writing skills, and the evaluation of teaching values marks over discovering the content of students’ hearts. In accordance with the concept of honest writing combined with my personal teaching experience, I have proposed that the solution of solving the present dishonesty issue that exists in writing and composition among junior-high school students perhaps is honest writing and composition education strategies: build a mentality which is combined with their personal understanding of who they are, and help them find inner joy, helping them rediscover their true identity and write about their actual life. From the perspective of students themselves, by paying more attention to their spiritual world and helping them dig out the inner source of writing, we shall achieve honest writing. |
