For generations, education has been regarded as the foundation, and teachers are the basis of education. Middle school quality education, as a critical stage, assumes the burden that feeds to a high intermediate segment. As a result, teacher quality is even more important. Through the competency assessment of teachers, it will help promote the quality-oriented education and the professional development of teachers ’ work in villages and towns; it also have a guiding significance to township schools teachers’ evaluation and training.Based on literature review, the writer uses some research methods such as surveys on Township junior high school teachers ’ competency to conduct systematic research. By writing self evaluation form in four areas as in teaching organizational skills, communication and cooperation skills, sense of responsibility and initiative, the writer conducted a questionnaire survey and made tests of 200 teachers in Jiangshui Township.After scientific analysis of the test results, this article concludes that Jiangshui Township junior high school teachers’ competency levels overall tend to "meet" criteria. Their results are closely related to the development of school choice, teacher’s professional ethics and age. The author, based on the general commentary, compares the competency of teachers from different angles, and concludes that there are differences between different gender, seniority, job title, qualifications of teachers, discipline, and performance in terms of competence,Finally, the author points out the problems in all aspects of the competency of teachers. According to the author’s own teaching practice and theory, the author puts forward proposals intended to enhance the competency level of junior high school teachers.
