Physical Education is an important part in higher education, which is Responsible for cultivating a large number of outstanding and innovative talents. The reform and development of higher education, modernization of education development and scientization of modern sports are requesting PE teachers to promote their abilities. College PE teachers should possess a certain degree of research ability while finishing daily teaching tasks. Only accelerating to construct a contingent of PE teachers combining teaching and scientific research is able to adapt to the rapid development of current physical cause.This study took a number of young physical education teachers as the cases, who are from 28 undergraduate schools in Jiangsu Province. Literature, interview, questionnaire, mathematical statistics research and logic analysis are applied to the study. It analyzed and studied the teachers’ academic scientific research, age characteristics, degree, title, internal factors, external factors, and results of scientific research so as to affirm our achievements identify shortcomings and try to propose ideas and measures for the future development. Through the investigations, the conclusions of this article are as follows:(1)Male teachers are in the majority of the young PE teachers. As for the educational structure, the young PE teachers show characteristics of high-level and great potential for development. Most of them are teaching assistant and lecturers, and less have senior titles.(2)The attitude of young PE teacher’s research is positive overall, and the purpose of teacher’s research is diversification,but the attitude of teacher’s research there is a utilitarian tendency that the most puts benefits on the first, and the college sports study for the PE teachers’ self-improvement on the second.(3)The methods of young PE teacher’s research is very single, nearly literature is only used, neglecting comprehensive utilization of various research methods. The range of teacher’s research is widespread, and pay more attention to the research about teaching projects. In addition, the opportunity of exchanging with international PE fields is restrained strictly due to the overall low degree of foreign language.(4)Management mechanism of young PE teacher’s research is imperfect, loopholes of supervision and management towards declaration of projects and budget execution still exist, degree of scientification and normalization should be increased.(5)Funds for sports scientific research in Jiangsu colleges is less input and the material reward is deficiency, and construction of sports infrastructure is lagging.(6) Quantity of projects above the Provincial level are low and unevenly distributed. The application of scientific research is relatively small, the majority of research just published papers.
