With the development of society, all-round development of human being will be more demanding. It has been a trend of higher education reformation that we should strengthen General Education. It needs curriculum to make the ideal of general education come true. Owing to lack of the planning and evaluating of the whole general education curriculum system, the general education has much dilemma in practice. It requires curriculum evaluation to promote curriculum reformation. However, there is a few papers about the evaluation of general education curriculum. Many papers focus on the contents of curriculum evaluation in theory and evaluate the general education curriculum in fuzzy judgment method. There is less research convert the evaluation contents to systematic and operational evaluation criteria. Moreover, those research perspective and research methods are relatively single.It can promote the construction and reformation with the scientific evaluation. This paper introduces the theory and method of performance evaluation of public sector into the general education curriculum evaluation and makes an investigation of general education curriculum system performance evaluation in H university. Hope it can propose a method for colleges and universities to execute general education curriculum evaluation. Revolve round the strategic target of the general curriculum system setting departments, the general education curriculum system performance evaluation method surveys and measures the behavior and results of construct general education curriculum system and its practical behavior. It would be helpful for colleges and universities to understand the effects of a curriculum and the cause of the effects, and then make improvements. Thus, provide scientific measures for the general education reformation. All of these would be significant for colleges and universities to optimize curriculum provision, to make the curriculum system better and to improve the quality of curriculum system.This study is based on why evaluate, how to design evaluation method and how to use this method to make evaluation of the general education curriculum system performance of H university. In this way, it launches the train of thought of general education curriculum system performance evaluation method in H university.Through this method, we can more accurately measure the situation of the construction of the curriculum of H university, which shows that the method is both scientific and rational. This paper used documentary analysis and expert consultation to structure the index system and make sure the weight. At the same time, this paper collected much data about general education curriculum system performance evaluation in the H university by questionnaire survey.Through statistical analysis technique, it can obtain the result of performance evaluation of this university. Then it can analyze the result with the attribution analysis and interviewing method. At last, according to the results of this university’s performance evaluation, the paper will propose some suggestions on improving general education curriculum system performance evaluation.
