Vocational skills contests are one of the most important boosters to Vocational Education reform and development. At present, at the national, provincial and municipality level a series of new policies have been implemented to promote Weifang Vocational College –W.F.V.C.A key strategy of these new policies is participation in vocational schools contests,which has now become the norm. From municipality through to national level our school has achieved many awards and gold medals at the national level. These achievements have also improved teaching standards and practices across a wide range of disciplines/departments and improved interdepartmental communications.Weifang as a “provincial vocational education comprehensive reform pilot area”for “secondary school vocational education” and W.F.V.C has maintained a front row seat in Shandong province in these professional skills contests bring the our school fame and fortune, improved recruitment of professional teachers, and sped up the reform and transformation of the school. However, some unforeseen negative influences have arisen due to the depth of participation; such as, internal contradictions have become increasingly prominent andongoing resources required for continued participationare problems that now need solving. Therefore, further investigative research is required into the subject of ‘specialized secondary vocational schools’ participation in these beneficial vocational skills contests.This paper examines the requirements to achieve W.F.V.C participation in Vocational Skills Contests as the status quo. It also identifies problems hindering this goal and presents strategies and methods to eliminate them thereof.The full text is divided into five chapters:1) Introduction.Analysis of the selected topic’s background, the significance of research from both home and abroad, elaborate definitions, research objectives and methodology.2) Data Collection.Mainly focuses on analyzing W.F.V.C status of participation in the vocational schools contests. To carry out the study the author’s education department in charge of the relevant departments was selected to:Obtain and correlatedata from W.F.V.C previous entries in the vocational skills contests. Expound the background on the W.F.V.C educational background in recent years, teaching experience and professional skills background.Designed a suitable questionnaire and selected the three W.F.V.C representatives to carry out the questionnaire and select seven classes of students, teachers and community representatives to interview as the research as subject, and analyzes the results of questionnaire and interviews.3) Data Analysis.Identify and analysis the main hindrancesfacing vocational schools participating in the skills contests and analysis the reasons thereof.Allocation of and availability of resources.Imperfect mechanisms.Planning.Nonscientific problems and internal contradictions.Analysis of the four underlying problems.4) Strategies.Puts forward strategic countermeasures against negative influences affecting W.F.V.C participation in the skills contests and promote a healthy and sustained development of participation. Mainly divided into three parts:The purpose of the contest and the need for schools, teachers and students to shift one-sided examinations, equal participation and opportunity methods are expounded on.The goal of‘Isaiah Taught Fusion’Normalized management and resource integration, continued development of professional teaching methods and building on competition achievements, and mechanisms to promote competition standardization and operating strategy are put forward and analyzed.How to promote development and a real demand for change, and suggestions on how to reform personnel training methods and education.5) Summary.Author summarizes and puts forward his own opinion.
