| University teachers’ performance appraisal system is an important content of modern university teachers’ personnel system. University teachers’professional attributes and work characteristics determines the university teachers performance appraisal is a very complicated work, especially based on the incentive theory and the principle of performance appraisal, to establish a performance appraisal system that in line with the law of modern university’s teaching and research, in accordance with rule of teacher’s professional development and classification development, manifesting the university characteristics and management practice becomes rather difficult. For many years, the academic study of university teachers performance appraisal is mostly discussed in theory, and the existing practical research has mainly concentrated on the study of some university directly under ministries and commissions of the Central Government, while the research of local university teachers performance appraisal is relatively lacking, and the empirical research is rarely reported.From the perspective of motivation, this paper explores the problem of local university teachers performance appraisal, with the combination of the university teachers performance appraisal system and the comprehensive incentive theory model, initially build a local university teachers’ performance appraisal incentive model, and taking the empirical research of a local university (herein after referred to as "C University")as an example, puts forward some countermeasures for the improvement of the local university teachers’ performance appraisal. The results of this study is to provide reference for the teachers performance appraisal of other local universities, and fulfill the lack of empirical research of teachers performance appraisal in local universities at our country.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the first chapter, it is the introduction of this study. In this part, the problem to study of this paper was proposed, mainly elaborated the research background, purpose and significance, and specific content, methods and technical route of the research, the research, the innovation and deficiency was illustrated.The second part is the second chapter, it analyzed the status of the research. This chapter discussed the current situation and the development trend of university teachers’ performance appraisal from the international and domestic two angles, giving a general overview of the current research system, and providing reference for this study.The third part includes the third chapter and the fourth chapter, it expounded the principle of the basic theory of motivation and performance appraisal, for the current situation and the existing problems of the local universities teachers performance appraisal, a local university teachers incentive performance appraisal model was put forward.The fourth part is the fifth chapter, it is the main content of this dissertation, the empirical research of C university teachers performance appraisal based on motivation. This part mainly dissected the teacher performance appraisal system of C university, giving a detailed analysis of the overall train of thought and course of its 10 years performance appraisal reform, especially the data mining of the recent 7 years (from 2007 to 2013) analyzed the teacher performance appraisal from the station-graded, title, education, age, types of appraisal, and department, considering the relationship of teachers’ teaching and scientific research performance appraisal results and the original intention of performance appraisal system design, and combining with the questionnaire survey of the teachers of C University, giving a diagnosis of its teacher performance appraisal and putting forward the corresponding improvement suggestions. The results of the empirical research to the teacher performance appraisal system of C university can provide the C University a basis for further improvement, and the experience of C University can provide a reference for other local colleges and universities.The fifth part is the conclusion of this study, it summarized the main conclusions of this study from three aspects. |
