The appearance of interactive e-whiteboard has provided a technical support for the informatization of classroom instruction. However, the current research just describes its functions and teaching experiences, lacking in a relevance to Senior High School’s English reading instruction. In addition, the interactive e-whiteboard’s interactive function has not been well displayed due to the limitation of teachers’ teaching methods and theoretical knowledge. To explore the effective ways to perfect the integration of information technology and English curriculum, and provide a first-hand reference for teachers, the author observed the senior high school English reading class and conducted a long-term study. On the basis of the relevant theories, the author took two parallel Grade Two classes in a high school as the research object, and conducted a survey with classroom observation, questionnaires survey, individual interviews and reading tests. This study aims to explore the influence of the interactive e-whiteboard on the students’ reading scores when applied in reading class, and both the teachers’ and students’ attitudes towards the application of interactive e-whiteboard into English reading class. Based on the experimental results, the author has drawn conclusions as follows:1) The statistical analyses of the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental class and the controlled class indicate that the interactive e-whiteboard’s application into English reading class will improve students’ reading scores effectively. 2) The results of the teacher questionnaire survey show that the interactive e-whiteboard has not been widely applied into the English reading class, but the majority of teachers hold positive attitude towards its application in English reading class. 3) From the interview with teachers, the author discovers that teachers are making use of e-whiteboard’s powerful teaching functions to assist students construct the current knowledge, instead of blindly instilling knowledge. Besides, the student questionnaire shows that the majority of students hold positive attitude towards the application of interactive e-whiteboard into English reading class. The application of interactive e-whiteboard into the senior high school English teaching is a long-term and systematic program, which requires consistent efforts from teachers. In teaching practice, more attention must be paid to the further accumulation of resource pool, team cooperation and common development among teachers. However, on account of the limited research time and physical condition, the study on the behavior of teachers and students in classroom teaching in this paper is not considered perfectly, and thus needs further discussion.
