Inquiry based science education is advocated in the new curriculum autonomy cooperation. Students should play a dominant role in the study.Student-centered teaching has changed the traditional teacher-student relationship and status. Student can be encouraged to express their questions and opinions. By setting their wits to work and explore, they can not only make the teacher-student relationships more harmonious but also the geography class more active. But in reality, the concept of student-centered still exist many problems, therefore, the application of student-centered teaching concept will be carried out in investigation and research. The article is divided into four parts:The first is the introduction part. It mainly consists of the reason, purpose and the significance of the research. And the ideas and methods will be also briefly described.Secondly, the theoretical basis of student-centered teaching concept and research status at home and abroad. From humanism and Constructivism Perspective, expounds the theoretical basis of the research;Thirdly, it is about the student-centered teaching survey and existing problems. Teachers and students were engaged in a "student-centered" survey on implementation. Through the analysis of survey data, it is found that the empirical teaching form is broadly used and the awareness of students’ autonomous learning is also poor. With poor school management problems from the schools, the causes will be analyzed from the perspective of school, teachers and students.Fourthly, it is set to find appropriate solutions to the issues raised. According to case study, we put forward some corresponding solutions such as, adding interests in class, paying attention to the participation of student, improving teachers’ professional level, updating schools education management solutions. All those are done to provide some operational strategy in the process of implementation of the student-oriented teaching concept.The article focuses on the existing problems in the student-centered class and directly investigating the daily classroom behavior of the teachers and instructional design and observing how much of a role the students can play in the student-centered class. Based on the practice of teaching practice, the writer tried to make investigation and exploration from the perspective of teaching methods and teaching design to provide some referential case study for the geography teachers. Hopefully, it can be worth learning and reference for the teachers who are involved in geography teaching.
