| Functional Movement Screen(FMS in short) is derived from the famous functional movement training, which is an effective way to judge the person’s basic sport abilities. FMS has been widely used in rehabilitation therapy and physical fitness training. Based on the quality of finishing FMS test movement, a person’s effectiveness and fluency of finishing the movement can be judged by testing the body’s flexibility, stability, coordination and symmetry. The student’s physical health can be appraised by their quantity of finishing the movement in physical health test, whose comprehensive appraisal purpose is equal with the FMS, namely the body’s flexibility, ductility, balance and breathing functions are tested. But the both are different in equipment and its required operation, degree of difficulty, quantitative index scoring and appraisal methods. FMS features easy operation, result quantization and perfect error correction. It is a scientific and systematic testing method and also a kind of supplement of physical test and value system.This essay has adopted bibliography, discussion, testing, questionnaire and statistical calculation. 80 male and 80 female are questioned at random from 2013 and 2014 in Shijiazhuang Vocational Technology Institute in functional movement test and sport habit. The physical health statistics is the one that was reported to the Ministry of Physical Education in 2014. The research conclusions are as follows:(1) The student’s physical health compliance rate in Shijiazhuang Vocational Technology Institute is comparatively higher and the female is higher than that of male, but the single index in male and female is quite different. The college students’ is good at fast movement, but bad in muscle strength, coordination and body’s balance capacities. Some have reached the standard but comparatively low. The school, society and parents should positively look for the practical strategy in increasing college student’s physical health so that we can improve the present situation.(2) The students in Shijiazhuang Vocational Technology Institute have good exercise habits, which suits the rate of standard physical population. The female’ standard is lower. The students’ motivation is clear and the method is easy and scientific. The students who lack of physical exercise is mainly displayed in lower sport frequency, short time of single sport activity and suitable sport intensity in particular the female, whose sport frequency, sport time and sport intensity is not enough. In order to improve students’ physical health level, some methods and strategies should be adopted to encourage them to do physical exercises and to raise the awareness of life-long sport activity.(3)The students’ total score of movement screen result in Shijiazhuang Vocational Technology Institute has been distributed by normal distribution, showing that most of the students can finish the test movement set by FMS with high quality; even some of them can get the highest mark of this level. During the process, the phenomenon of not finishing the movement because of illness or pains has not occurred. So, the degree of difficulty of every movement by FMS is suitable with the college students’ physical health testing degree of difficulty. FMS can be served as the supplemental testing method in college students’ physical health testing content.(4) In discussing and researching FMS to lead into the content of students’ physical health test, straight leg raising and shoulder flexibility can be neglected thanks to its low degree of difficulty. The male rotation can show the examinee’s stability, coordination and flexibility, which is the reflection of comprehensive abilities. But the students’ abilities are worse, so it can be taken into consideration first for the content of college students’ physical health test. The sex difference should be considered in applying FMS to the college students’ physical health test. By the result of this research, push-ups for male and deep squat for female can be advised.(5) Through the testing result of FMS, the college students’ upper and lower limbs are flexible, but the symmetry, flexibility and stability in hip, knee and ankle are bad. The body’s stability is not ample to some extent. The bad phenomenon exists in the symmetry of body’s two sides. Most of students need to engage in the functional movement exercise to reinforce their basic level of physical exercise abilities.FMS is such method that can quickly find the people’s dangerous movement and can be corrected by training. We can know about the body situation by the result of FMS test, so that we can draw right plans to carry out the physical exercise. |
