With the rapid development of information technology, digital games have played a more and more important role in people’s life. Teenagers are partly addicted to digital games. Secondary vocational students generally do badly in learning. So it’ll be helpful to apply digital games in secondary vocational English learning, boosting students’ interest and improving learning.The paper consists of four parts. Part One is the introduction, Parts Two & Three are the body, and the last part is the conclusion. In the introduction, on basis of relevant study of development of digital games and reforming of education, the writer will state the possibility and necessity of applying digital games into teaching and learning, considering secondary vocational students’ characteristics, and then focus on the study of educational values of digital games and how to apply them into the secondary vocational English class with the purpose of improving learning efficiency. In the body, the writer will give relevant definitions, and explain educational values of digital games with the study of potential educational values of games and constructivist learning theory, flow theory and so on. The writer will choose proper applications according to the real class situation and analyze the practice model procedures with the example of how to teach Image in an Interview and then look back upon the teaching. In the last part, the writer will conclude the paper, and look into the distance the bright future of applying digital games into teaching and learning.Through the study, the writer will prove that there are great educational values in digital games and that they can be effectively applied into teaching and learning, activating students’ learning interest and improving efficiency in class and quality in teaching. In order to help further development of application of digital games, the writer will continually explore more efficient applications in class.
