Mathematic is a major foundation course in secondary vocational school. The main task of this course is to enable students to master basic mathematic knowledge, which is related to their life and professional knowledge, and to study the professional knowledge, master professional skills and future development. Currently, mathematics education in secondary vocational school has decreased its difficulty, while teaching content and teaching methods substantially similar to high school mathematic curriculum that emphases on results and ignores process. What’s more, the big gap between mathematic and other courses learning and teaching leads little effect on serving major lessons.The author selects Zhumadian Agricultural School accounting major as the case study. Literature research, questionnaires, interviews, data analysis were carried out from four basic aspects that mathematic score in high school entrance examination and voluntary reporting, mathematics learning, students emotional factors, the relation between mathematics teaching and professional courses to investigate the current main problems in secondary vocational mathematics teaching and propose counter measures, trying to build a relatively scientific and effective mathematics teaching mechanism. According to current situation of the above, combined with accounting specialty features, this study further proposes the following coping strategies:(1) mathematical culture permeates the accounting curriculum to stimulate student interest in learning; (2) the concept of mathematics for professional services should be established to consummate curriculum goals; (3)more attention on secondary vocational school students’ emotional factors to boost their confidence; (4)Mathematic teachers professional quality should be strengthen; (5) learning assessment should be reformed to develop the ability of practice. Through the above Strategies, the author intends to correct students’ awareness of mathematics learning, effectively improve their interest in mathematics, apply mathematics theory knowledge to real life and work, to better make full use of mathematic to achieve a win-win between mathematics teaching and accounting specialty teaching.Based on the study, assist other research methods, the author has a more clear understanding on the present mathematics learning situation of students who are specialized in accounting in Zhumadian Agricultural School. At the same time, teaching strategies and suggestions have been proposed, which will have a good guide in the future teaching and learning practice for the mathematics practice in accounting major for our school.
