| Objective: To investigate relationship between Work stress ã€Work values and work engagement, and to explore the moderating effect of Work values in this relationship.Methods: 384 New generation middle school teachers in Hunan province were assessed using the Primary and Secondary Teacher Stress Questionnaire, Work Value Scale and UWES.Results:(1) New generation middle school teachers’ work engagement is higher than the median,and the scores of dedication are the highest, followed by the vigor, and finally absorption.(2)There was a significant difference of New generation middle school teachers’ work engagement in the aspect of gender 〠working life and Annual income,but no significant difference in Educational background. in vigor, 31-35 year old teachers are higher than 26-30 year old teachers and 26-30 year old teachers are higher than Teachers under the age of 25;in absorption., 26-30 year old teachers are the highest, followed by the31-35 year old teachers, and last is the Teachers under the age of 25.(3)Work values was positively correlated to work engagement, and Work stress was negative correlated to work engagement.(4)Work stress ã€Work values and Their interaction item have a direct effect on work engagement, which means that Work values had a moderating effect on the relationship between Work stress and work engagement.Conclusion:(1) New generation middle school teachers’ work engagement is Slightly higher than medium level(2) There was a significant difference of New generation middle school teachers’ work engagement in the aspect of gender 〠working life and Annualincome,but no significant difference in Educational background.(3)Work stress ã€Work Value and work engagement were significantly correlated(4)Work values had a moderating effect on the relationship between Work stress and work engagement. |
