The Study Of Problem And Countermeasure On Teaching Abilities Of College Students To Short-term Volunteer

Nowadays, College Students’ short-term teaching activities has become one of the main forms of youth volunteer activities. The college students’ short-term volunteer teaching activities have became very popular since the beginning of its development. It has a positive impact on college students themselves, and also on the communication between the urban and rural education in the process of its vigorous development. At the same time, people began to realize that there are some problems and defects in such volunteer activities, and it had some negative effects, resulted in the teaching effect was not that perfect. The main reason is that the volunteer students’ teaching ability is not that qualified.This paper took Polaris volunteer organization in Harbin Institute of Technology as an example, studying the whole process of teaching. Through the interview method,observation method to collect the relevant information, and discovered the volunteer teaching ability level, analyzed the reasons and put forward the solutions. In the introduction part, the paper explained the reason of choosing the topic, the purpose and significance of the study. Analyzed the present situation of research on short-term teaching at home and abroad in detail. Put forward the innovation of this research, the research ideas and methods. And defined the core concepts which involved in this paper.The second part made a simple introduction on the status of short-term teaching college students, making a summary on the volunteer students and their short-term teaching activity characteristics. The third part is the core of this paper, introduced the research object and the research process in detail. From the results of the survey,we can found that there are some problems in the follow three parts: the volunteer teaching preparation competence, the volunteer teaching implementing ability and volunteer teaching experience summary ability. The fourth part found the reasons of the problems in the teaching of volunteer teaching ability from short-term teaching activities process of college students. For example, the volunteers participation motivations are complex,teaching goals are not that clear, they do not understand demand of their teaching objects and also lack of the knowledge on the education theories and skills. And theselection criteria of volunteer is not that strict, teaching training process is not perfect,the team’s teaching experience summary ability is not so good and so on. The fifth part put forward some corresponding measures to solve the problem of volunteer teaching ability from the volunteer recruitment and selection, the training process, the communication between both sides and also from the teaching experience summary ability.
