Due to the increasingly fierce competition of the society, the undergraduate students in adolescence who cherish great ambition and expectation tend to be inevitably stumbled by various frustration in the aspect of study, interpersonal communication and employment. However, most of the students are spoiled in the single-child family, just like the flowers in the greenhouse which are exposed to no wind and rain. As a result, their weak willpower would easily throw themselves into the negative mentality and even lead them astray whenever setbacks come to trouble them. Therefore, it is high time to improve their anti-frustration ability and chasten their willpower. Meanwhile, in order to get the students’ anti-frustration ability well cultivated, the origins of frustration, the according responses as well as the principles and approaches of anti-frustration are to be deeply explored. What is more, it is also of great benefit not only in disclosing the law of the development from the stage of students’ suffering from frustration to the stage of their resistance to frustration, but also in elevating the quality of college education, especially the effectiveness of the ideological and political education.By conducting a questionnaire survey among the undergraduate students in Sichuan University, Sichuan Normal University, and the University of Electronic Science and Technology, this thesis attempts to probe into the reasons why there demonstrates a decrease on the students’ anti-frustration ability. Based on the advanced achievements on the anti-frustration education both at home and abroad and the practical situation of China, especially the current situation of the students’ anti-frustration ability, some principles and approaches in enhancing students’ anti-frustration ability are put forward by analyzing the related document literature and carrying out some case studies coupled with the use of interdisciplinary knowledge. The thesis mainly consists of the following five chapters. Chapter one is the introduction part where the research background, significance of the research, literature review, research methods and the innovative points are briefly illustrated. In chapter two, the connotation and significance of the cultivation of undergraduate students’ anti-frustration ability are demonstrated. In chapter three, the results of the questionnaire survey mentioned above are provided to summarize the types of some common frustration that the students are likely to encounter and to reveal the major issues in their anti-frustration. In the last two chapters, the reasons for a decline on the anti-frustration ability are further investigated from the perspectives of the undergraduate students themselves, families, colleges and universities, as well as the society based on the results of the case study. Besides, some main principles and approaches of enhancing students’ anti-frustration ability are listed here.
