Through years of teaching practice, the author finds that the classroom teaching effects of high school music appreciation have not been very ideal in the process of music teaching in high schools. Participation of students in the class is not enough. Students are indifferent to and not interested in the curriculum. So I introspect my own teaching deeply. Meanwhile, I carefully study the teaching material, interview students, survey questionnaires and so on. I have learned that they have great intreast in music, but most of them are fond of pop music. At the same time, most of the music works in the teaching book Music Appreciation are new for them, so students have certain difficulty in understanding them and they wants to escape. The key of the paper is to fucus on students’ present interest and to find the interest road to Music Appreciation with the bridge of present interest.According to the questionnaire of degree of high school students’ interest in the teaching material called Music Appreciation, I know about the opinions of the degree of students’ fondness to the appreciation works, the types of appreciation works that students like, the teaching ways of teachers’ appreciation course, and the degree of difficulty of the present appreciation teaching material etc. At the same time, by the questionnaire of middle school students’ interest in music, I realize various interest tendencies of the ways the students know about the music, the music types they like, the types of music teachers they like and so on. The paper further analyzes the teaching material called Music Appreciation, including vocal music, instrumental music, music common sense knowledge, musicians. It analyses and combines the students’ present interest and interest in the appreciation course with the appreciation teaching material to find the similiar points to improve the students’ interest in learning, to promote the orderly conduct of appreciation course, and to improve students’ ability of appreciating music.Next, it analyzes the factors that affect students’ interests in Music Appreciation, including the environment of schools and society, the teachers, students and teaching materials.After thorough analysis, the solving strategies are the most important. From the following several aspects I discuss the strategies that music teachers should strengthen students’ understanding of music appreciation course, improve teaching method, stimulate students’ interest, flexibly apply teaching methods, make the classroom lively and interesting with real results, integrate classroom teaching reasonably, and improve their professional knowledge and competence. In this teaching atmosphere, the students’ interest in music appreciation is more and more strong.
